In the morning of October 26, 2008, Vietnam Association for Conservation of Nature and Environment (VACNE) held its 20th Founding Anniversary and Congress V. Mr. Tran Hong Ha, Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environment, and Mr. Ho Uy Liem, Chairman of Union of Vietnam Scientific and Technical Associations were present at the celebration.

According to Vietnam Television, in the morning of December 27, 2008, Da Nang ACNE held a ceremony to hand over 450 well-planted coconut-palms along coastal roads for local inhabitants.

VFCD belonging to VACNE recently ended successfully the last 2008 Work-camp in Sapa, Lao Cai with the participation of Vietnamese and international volunteers. This event was one of the International Volunteer Programs carried out in various localities by VFCD.

Association for Nature and Environment of Dak Lak Province (Dak Lak ACNE) established 3 grassroots units of ACNE in some localities, including: Tu An Ward in Buon Ma Thuot City, with 7 members and 78 volunteers; Cuor Dang Commune in Cu Mgar District, with 7 members and 82 volunteers; Ea Edrong Commune in Cu Mgar District, with 7 members and 120 volunteers.
