Awakening the potential of Nui Chua and Kon Ha Nung Plateau

Vietnam’s biosphere reserves Nui Chua (Ninh Thuan Province) and Kon Ha Nung Plateau (Gia Lai Province) were officially recognised by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) as Global Biosphere Reserves on September 15. This provides great joy for Vietnam, but it also poses many problems in terms of preserving and promoting the values of these two biosphere reserves.

Vietnam’s two biosphere reserves nominated for UNESCO voting

Vietnam’s biosphere reserves Nui Chua in the central province of Ninh Thuan and Kon Ha Nung in the Central Highlands province of Gia Lai will be voted to seek UNESCO recognition at the 33rd session of the International Coordinating Council of the Man and the Biosphere Programme (CIC-MAB) in Nigeria from September 13-17.
