Watching storks on island in Hai Duong

03 July 2024 | 08:37:00 AM

Located about 80km east of Ha Noi, Stork Island in Chi Lang Nam Commune, Thanh Mien District, Hai Duong Province, is a favorite tourist spot for nature and wildlife enthusiasts.

Home to over 100,000 storks and herons, this island in the middle of An Duong Lake offers a spectacular display of avian life. As the sun sets, various species of storks and herons return to the island after a day of foraging, making this the ideal time for visitors to hire local boats and cruise the lake to watch the birds.

From the boat, visitors can observe dozens of species of storks and herons flying around and perching on bushes and bamboo tops. White storks, flame storks, scented storks, welcoming storks, horizontal storks, flycatchers, egrets, small egrets, black storks, as well as gray herons, blue herons, and black herons, create a vivid and captivating scene.
