Quang Ngai: dawn greeting by My Khe beach

11 May 2012 | 02:23:00 PM

My Khe beach is near the village of Co Luy, in the commune of Tinh Khe, along the National 24B, 15km from the city of Quang Ngai (in Central Vietnam).

This is a beautiful beach of 7 km of fine sand, protected by a verdant forest of poplars.
My Khe beach is located near the river which water flows into the sea from Kinh mountain, creating an ideal environment for aquaculture. My Khe Sea, which water remains pure, home to many coral reefs and rich flora and fauna, including several rare species of algae.
On the road to this beach, you can visit Son My village, where one of the worst atrocities of war was committed by the Americans, and call at the monument erected in memory of the innocent victims.
Other famous sights are nearby, such as the citadel of Chau Sa (Son Tinh district) by the Tra river mouth built in the ninth century which remained virtually intact today. Mount Thien An or the Tra Khuc River (Son Tinh district) are other attractions.
Watching over the sea at My Khe is an unforgettable experience: a great show with a thousand colors between sky and sea in the distance, fishing boats are on the way back with their nets full of fish and shrimp, the sun rises, the waves whisper, birds sing and the shining smiles of fishermen.
Today, more and more visitors come to the My Khe beach. Quang Ngai province has
developed a big tourist area of My Khe in an area of over 340 hectares. It will include a recreational area, hotels and villas, and another camp in order to best serve all visitors.
