Major sites such as Bai Dinh Pagoda, Tam Chuc, Thung Nham and Hang Mua opened early to welcome crowds. At Bai Dinh Pagoda, visitors gathered from dawn to pray for good fortune, including tour groups from India, China, Britain and France.
Thung Ui Tourism Area in Tay Hoa Lu Ward, a new addition to the Trang An Landscape Complex, opened during Tet, offering a slower-paced cultural and spiritual retreat rooted in Dinh dynasty and Muong heritage while easing pressure on crowded sites.
Tourism officials said favourable weather and careful preparations, including festive decorations and strengthened security and sanitation measures, helped ensure smooth operations on the first day of the year.
Ninh Binh aims to welcome 20 million visitors in 2026, including three million international arrivals.
