Hoi An receives most favourite city award

Hoi An city received the Top City in the World award voted by Wanderlust Magazine’s readers at a ceremony in the central province of Quang Nam on February 23.

 


The ancient town came out with a whopping 97.18 percent satisfaction rating. According to the UK ’s leading travel magazine, nearly 3,000 of its readers voted in this year’s awards.

Speaking at the ceremony, Le Van Giang, Chairman of the Hoi An City People’s Committee, stressed that the city has spared no effort to improve its services and facility in order to maintain reputation as an attractive destination for domestic and international tourists.

Hoi An was recognised as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1999. Its building and its street plan reflects the influences, both indigenous and foreign, that have combined to produce this unique heritage site.

The Top City category is part of the Wanderlust Travel Awards that include various categories such as the Top Country, Top Airline and Top Airport.

The Wanderlust magazine, which was launched in 1993, has subscribers in 112 countries.
