Evaluate the offer to transfer the Nature Conservation Area Phia Oắc-Phia Đén into National Parks

(VACNE)-On 21/3, in Hanoi, General Department of Forestry (Ministry of Agriculture & Rural Development - MARD) held a workshop to review and evaluate reports of People's Committees of province of Cao Bang on the offer class the Nature Conservation Area Phia Oắc-Phia Đén to the park, on the basis of which the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development recommended to the Prime Minister for allowing transfer class the Nature Conservation Area Phia Oắc-Phia Đén to the National Park.

 
 
 
 
Attending the workshop were representatives of the Government Office and the services of the General Department of Forestry - Ministry of Agriculture & Rural Development (Department of Conservation, Department of Science & International Cooperation, Department of Forest Development) and the Department of Conservationof biodiversity - the General Department of Environment, Ministry of Natural Resources & Environment, departments of Cao Bang province and Nguyen Binh People's Committee, and scientists in many fields.
 Report proposing the transfer grade of Cao Bang Province People's Committee based on the criteria of Decree 117/2010/ND-CP of December 24, 2010 of the Prime Minister on the organization and management system SUFand the results of the survey and assessment of natural resources and biodiversity resource  Phia Oắc-Phia Đén areas.
 According to the scientists, the report recommended the class of Cao Bang Province People's Committee together with the actual approach, compared, confirmed Phia Oắc-Phia Đén to meet the specific natural conditions can become NP.

Whole region Phia Oắc-Phia Đén has a total  area of 24.631 hectares, in that SUF Oac Side - side to broader 10.261ha; altitude from 1500m - 1931m above sea level, the annual average temperature is18 degrees C.
 
 Recent survey results were statistically Phia Oắc – Phia Đén  to the 1117 which has 229 species of animals have skeletal, 17 species of amphibians and 28 species of reptiles, thousands of non-skeletal animals, insects,mollusk fauna, and land animals. Of these, scientists have identified 56 species of rare animals are of high conservation value, including 24 mammal species listed in the Red Data Book of Vietnam (2007), in which species of musk at extreme risk ranking , 15 endangered and six threatened species. Among them there are some species of rare serow, loris large, small distance, black gibbons northeast, monkey cup, bear, flute, civet, bobcats, white-tailed flying squirrel, flying squirrel stars, white pheasants, chickens compared chest mahogany, cobra, snake stripe, python ground, gold mountain turtles, box turtles, three bars, water lizards, toads Guangxi, geckos, tree frogs ...

Mr. Long Van Bang, Director of Special-use Forests Phia Oắc – Phia Đén   evaluated, the project "Research, investigators assess the status of biodiversity and natural resources as a scientific basis for the construction of the parkOac side - side to " by the Vietnam Association for Conservation of Nature and Environment  build is very viable.
