ABSTRACT
To reduce uncertainty in greenhouse gas (GHG) prediction, a new CO2 measuring method has been designed and facilities have been developed. In this study, experiments on on-site photosynthesis of Pinus koraiensis and soil respiration were performed at Mt. Taewha in Gwangju, Gyeonggido, Korea. Also, a study on the relationship between plant germination rate and climate change was performed in a newly designed and built temperature gradient chamber (TGC). The result of the experiment shows that photosynthesis and soil respiration can affect the climate change and this experimental method design and facilities can be a useful tool for the measurement of CO2 budget. TGC study also shows a significant correlation between plant germination rate and climate change. These approaches help to understand the correlations between environmental factors and climate change and thus will contribute to the greenhouse gas assessment which can be applied to the environmental impact assessment criteria.
