Some pictures of the first Heritage Tree to be recognized at the beginning of Spring 2025

(VACNE) - On the morning of 04/02/2025 (January 7, the Year of the Tiger), the government and people of Coc San commune, Lao Cai city solemnly held the Vietnam Heritage Tree Recognition Ceremony for the nearly 300-year-old banyan tree in the field of Tong Xanh village, Coc San commune, Lao Cai city, Lao Cai province.

Attending the ceremony were representatives of Lao Cai city leaders, leaders of Coc San commune and thousands of locals and tourists from all over the world. Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Sinh, Chairman of the Vietnam Association for Nature and Environment Protection attended and directly awarded the certificate of recognition of the Vietnam Heritage Tree to the leaders and people of Coc San commune.

This is the first Heritage Tree Recognition Ceremony at the beginning of the Lunar New Year in conjunction with the Roong Pooc Festival (going to the field) of the Giay ethnic group in Coc San commune. In the near future, many localities have planned and organized recognition ceremonies such as Hai Duong, Hai Phong, Yen Bai, Tuyen Quang, Hanoi, Tra Vinh,...
