2 Green Cypress trees recognized as Vietnamese Heritage Trees are located near the peaks of King, Ngoc Hoa peak, on rocky mountains at Xiao Dong – Tan Vien saddle at an altitude of ≥ 1,000 m above sea level in Ba Vi National Park, Hanoi city. This is also the first green cypress tree on the list of Vietnamese Heritage Trees.
Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Sinh, President of Vietnam Association for Conservation of Nature and Environment; Prof. Dr. Dang Huy Huynh, Chairman of the Vietnam Heritage Tree Council attended and handed over the Decision and Certificate of Recognition of Heritage Trees to leaders of Ba Vi National Park
Also attending the ceremony were Mr. Ta Van Tuong, Deputy Director of Hanoi Department of Agriculture and Rural Development; Mr. Le Minh Tuyen, Director General of Hanoi Forest Protection Department and all leaders and officials of Ba Vi National Park.
Along with 1,281 plant species of Ba Vi National Park, the green cypress tree population and especially 02 trees recognized as Vietnam Heritage Trees will be a destination for scientists to visit, research, and also an ideal model for sightseeing,
Also this morning, in conjunction with the announcement ceremony of the decision to recognize the Vietnam Heritage Tree, Ba Vi National Park in collaboration with Hanoi Wildlife Rescue Center organized the re-release of 174 birds of 10 different species eligible under regulations to supplement and enrich 345 existing animals in Ba Vi National Park.
