25 March 2014 | 10:03:00 AM

Twenty young Vietnamese artists have been cooperating to increase consciousness about the Earth Hour Campaign 2014 to call on students to join the efforts to protect the environment.

“Let's Spread The Green”

The artists, including the singers Dinh Manh Ninh and Duong Tran Nghia, Chi Pu, Ha Min, Be Tran, Vuong Anh, Nguyen Thanh Tuan as well as the dance team St319.

The young artists attended a launch with the theme of environmental protection at seven high schools in Hanoi.

They hope that the campaigns will attract around 20,000 who will later take action to protect the environment and raise awareness among young people. Some of the funds will be used to help grow a mangrove forest.

These activities are being held in conjunction with Earth Hour 2014. This year's theme is entitled "I Will If You Will". The plan is to grow 3,000 mangrove trees in a flood-prone area located in the central province of Thua Thien Hue.

The young artists are expected to attract the participation of many students.

Students from Viet Duc and Tran Phu High Schools in Hanoi have actively taken part in the campaigns by collecting waste for recycling, collecting litter and saving energy.
