Vietnam Environment SOS Center has trained to improve oil spill response capacity for two central provinces

(VACNE) - On October 15 & 16, 2020, the SOS Environmental Incident Response Center of VACNE collaborated with the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Da Nang City and Quang Nam Province, and with Regional Petroleum Company 5 to organize training and sharing experience in responding to oil spills for more than 200 trainees who are safety officers and employees at local petrol stations.

This is an activity to improve oil spill response capacity for sensitive areas, often at risk of causing oil spills caused by natural disasters and humans in the central region of Vietnam. In order to do that, the trainees update information, practice skills and deploy quickly when responding and overcoming oil spills at the store, in order to minimize the damage when the incident occurs.

Attending and directing this training course were leaders of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Da Nang, Quang Nam, Department of Environmental Protection Central - Central Highlands; Central Regional Toxic, Chemical and Radioactive Incident Response Center of the Chemical Army (Ministry of National Defense).

Representing most of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of districts of Quang Nam, Da Nang and a large number of officers in charge of facility safety, belonging to the companies: Vietnam Aviation Fuel (SKYPEC), Fuel flight Petrolimex; Petroleum Petroleum Central PV OIL, Military Petroleum Region 2; Petec Hoa Hiep Da Nang Petroleum Enterprise, Military Petroleum Corporation, Da Nang Petroleum Product Warehouse ... attended these important training sessions.

In this training class, the trainees not only heard instructions on notes in environmental protection work; professional training and sharing of experiences in incident response skills, but also practice in incident response, when importing gasoline on the spot./.
