The assessment was shared by Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao and Chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) Jia Qinglin, as they met on separate occasions.
At his meeting with Chinese Premier Wen, Party General Secretary Trong congratulated China on its achievements and the implementation of targets of the 11th five-year scheme. He said these had helped China become the world's second-largest economy.
He said Viet Nam-China co-operation had developed in all fields and that there had been outstanding progress in economics, trade, culture, education and training, science and technology.
The Party leader said the relationship between the two Parties and States was important for the stability and development of the two countries.
Both sides spoke highly of the five-year Viet Nam-China economic-trade co-operation development scheme.
They suggested speeding up the pace of major projects, including the Viet Nam-China Friendship Palace in Ha Noi, the Long Giang and Hai Phong trade and economic zones, and infrastructure projects in the "Two corridors, one belt" area.
The leaders agreed that in the future, the two sides would accelerate people-to-people exchanges, particularly for children and young people, and boost co-operation between localities in both countries.
They said the visit would further develop the Viet Nam-China comprehensive strategic co-operation partnership.
Trong conveyed Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung's invitation to Premier Wen to visit Viet Nam. The Premier accepted.
Meeting with Chairman of the CPPCC Jia Qinglin, Trong informed Jia of his successful talks with Chinese Party General Secretary and President Hu Jintao.
Trong said the two sides agreed on orientations and key measures to promote the constant, in-depth development of the Viet Nam-China comprehensive strategic co-operation partnership in an effective and practical manner for the benefit of the two peoples, the development of each country and for peace, co-operation and development in the region and the world. The Vietnamese Party leader invited the CPPCC Chairman to visit Viet Nam,and he accepted.
Trong yesterda also visited Zhong Guan Cun, the Chinese "Silicon Valley," in Haidian District of Beijing.
The 20-year-old development is home to nearly 20,000 high-technology firms, about 40 top universities and 200 research institutes.
On the same day, Trong met leaders of the China-Viet Nam Friendship Association.
He praised the way the group had tried in connecting Chinese and Vietnamese people through a wide range of activities.
Later, Viet Nam's Defence Minister, General Phung Quang Thanh and his Chinese counterpart, Senior Lieutenant General Liang Guanglie, met. Thanh said he was statisfied about the way the relationship had improved.
He said that since 2003, the two countries had signed five documents that had served as the foundation for boosting defence relations.
Regarding the East Sea issue, Thanh noted that several basic principles signed on Tuesday during Trong's visit would serve as the foundation for maintaining stability in the region.
The Chinese Defence Minister agreed that both countries' armies must play an important role in promoting stability in the region and furthering China-Viet Nam friendship.
On the same day, Deputy Minister Nguyen Thien Nhan, and Minister of Trade and Industry Vu Huy Hoang met with leaders of SANY and CMEC, two of China's major machinery engineering companies.
Minister of Planning and Investment, Bui Quang Vinh, held separate meetings with China's Commerce Minister Chen Deming and Vice Chairman of the National Development and Reform Commission, Zhang Xiaoquiang.
