USAID helps Vietnam fight global warming

The Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT) and US Agency for International Development (USAID) on July 29 signed a letter of intent to cooperate in cutting harmful carbon emissions.

 

“The goal of the USAID energy cooperation is to provide broad assistance for the nation’s key decision makers in implementing an effective response to climate change,” said MOIT Deputy Minister Cao Quoc Hung at the signing ceremony.


USAID Director Joakim Parker in turn said he was extremely pleased to announce the five-year partnership to help Vietnam bring about clean, efficient and sustainable energy.

The program aims to assist Vietnam spur economic growth and improve people's lives while cutting greenhouse gas emissions through effective green growth strategies, the USAID Director underscored.
