The giant tree of the Shan Diu people along Tam Dao mountain is honored with the Vietnamese Heritage Tree

(VACNE) - The ancient banyan tree, with branches in four directions, with a shaggy root of dozens of people, in Minh Quang commune, Tam Dao district, Vinh Phuc province has just been organized by local authorities and communities to organize the Welcoming Ceremony to recognize the Vietnam Heritage Tree on January 27, 2024

This is a majestic banyan tree, nearly 500 years old, in the campus of the spiritual relics of Dinh - Pagodas and Temples of relatives of the Shan Diu ethnic group.

President Nguyen Ngoc Sinh and some VACNE leaders attended, congratulated with relatives and directly handed over the Decision, along with the Certificate of recognition of the Vietnamese Heritage Tree to local representatives.

Attending the ceremony and giving flowers to congratulate this event, there were Mr. Nguyen Manh Hung, Chairman of Binh Xuyen District People's Committee – a local son; Mr. Tran Van Tuong, Permanent Vice Chairman of Minh Quang Commune People's Committee, together with a large number of leaders and representatives of mass departments of three villages, schools located in the area and neighboring localities.

Speaking at this solemn ceremony, Mr. President of VACNE expressed his joy at the enthusiastic response of people across the country to this event, including relatives of Minh Quang commune; at the same time read the poem "The Heritage Tree".

On this occasion, the Commune People's Committee announced the new person assigned to take care of the relics, including the Vietnam Heritage Tree.

At the beginning of this solemn ceremony, there was a mass cultural program, with folk songs and dances performed by local amateur artists and ethnic languages, attracting a large number of people to watch and bring bold colors of the festival.. /.
