Speaking at the seminar, Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Bui Cach Tuyen said: “Vietnam has developed many policies and made serious effort in biodiversity and wildlife conservation. However, similar to global trend, Vietnam’s biodiversity decline is on the increase. Illegal wildlife trade and use are becoming more complicated. Wildlife conservation and sustainable use in a country depend on not only its policies but also international regulations and other countries’ policies. Therefore, international cooperation and national effort are needed to maintain biodiversity conservation in general and wildlife conservation in particular.
Experts and organizations related to wildlife conservation and sustainable use openly shared their opinions and proposed effective measures for wildlife conservation and possible methods of wildlife management and sustainable use.
