Snowfall again in Sapa

Snow began falling from the Hoang Lien peak to O Quy Ho Pass and spilling down to the town of Sapa today morning, February 19. Snow on O Quy Ho Pass is thickest at about 5-7cm.

Cold air causes small rains and drizzles in most districts in Lao Cai Province. The temperature is going down and the weather is very cold.
 


 

Particularly, the temperature is only 5-7°C in some mountain districts like Bac Ha, Sa Pa and Bat Xat. It is only 1 to minus 1 degree Celsius in some areas of Sapa town.


 

10 regional organizations, Sa Pa town , from 5am was snow white clad trees .


 

This morning, an interesting natural phenomenon, white snowflakes, began falling in Sa Pa. According to local residents, snow stretched from the Hoang Lien peak to O Quy Ho Pass and began to spill down to Sapa town at 5am.


 

This is the first snowfall in Sa Pa in 2014.


 

According to forecasts, snowfall will last a couple of days.


 

In the afternoon of February 18, a new cold spell began affecting the northeastern provinces. This cold spell is forecasted to last 3-4 days.
