Participation of Vietnamese NGOs in the Mekong CSOs Dialogue on Climate Change

On invitation from the Thailand Environment Institute (TEI) a team of Vietnamese researchers from VUSTA and VACNE has participated in the Mekong CSOs (Civil Society Organizations) Dialogue on Climate Change organized in Chiang Rai province, Thailand from 23 to 24 September 2010.

 

 
 
In the plenary session of the meeting professor Le Thac Can, from VESDI of VACNE, has presented a report on “Vietnamese CSOs in implementation of the National Target Program on Climate Change (NTPCC) of Vietnam”. Ms Vu Thi Bich Hop, from SRD of VUSTA, has chaired the discussion on the report on “Enhancing climate resilience sustainable livelihood development through micro insurance mechanism and mainstreaming gender issues in Cambodia” and the report on “ Officials-villagers partnership model – case in Huoi Sam Mo in Laos”.
In the 2nd day of the meeting Ms Nguyen Hong Yen from VACNE, Mr. Pham Duc Tri , from CHMEST of VUSTA, and Mr. Ngo Thuan Khiet, from VUSTA, together with Ms Binh Hop and professor Thac Can have actively participated in the field visits in 3 communities in Mae Chan district, Chiang Rai province.
Participation of Vietnamese researchers in this Dialogue has actively promoted the cooperation between CSOs in GMS countries concerning the development of grassroot people activities regarding climate change adaptation and mitigation in the region.

ADB finances climate resilience infrastructure...
