Muntjac Deer Found in Truong Son Mountains

The Truong Son muntjac deer, Saola, was found in Truong Son Mountain Range by the Saola Sanctuary management board.
The seven-kilogram muntjac deer, famously known as the Asian Unicorn, was released into the jungle after capture.
The species called muntiacus truongsonensis is the cousin of cattle but resembles a small antelope, half the size of the Indian muntjac. The species was discovered in the Truong Son Mountain Range in 1997.
