The PM agreed to join hands with the Canadian Government to fund the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) to implement the National Target Program on climate change.
Việt Nam is one of the most vulnerable countries exposed to climate change. If sea level rises one meter, 11% of Vietnamese population and 5% of land will be affected.
So far, Việt Nam has acquired multilateral and bilateral supports via over 20 programs and projects.
Signed in December, 2008, the National Target Program aims to assess climate change impacts and compose climate change scenarios for appropriate responses.
