Mekong -Dong Phu Ecotourism zone - The Mekong River tourism

Mekong-Dong Phu ecotourism zone is 7 kilometers far from Vinh Long City. Up to now, its special and unique feature is the combination of ecotourism and visiting ponds that raise catfish. It is located in Tien River, so the only mean of traffic is canoe or ship, which creates a specific characteristic.
The ecotourism zone covering over 2 hectares with tens of catfish raising ponds is suitable for excursions with water games and other field activities. Visitors can participate in activities on the river by canoes, water motors, paddle and banana floats for groups of 4 to 10 people. Especially, there exists a natural freshwater aquatic species protected area in the Mekong River. Many fish species flock here to eat catfish’s food scrap. Therefore, visitors can catch fish by themselves in the river, which is very interesting for them, especially for urban ones.
Beside fish raising ponds, there are also ponds for fish breeding purposes and a precious fish protected area of the Mekong River. A canal cut through the river attracts many kinds of natural fish, which creates an attractive river fish catching service. A beautiful sandy beach creates for visitors a kind of beach bathing right in the Mekong River without going to Vung Tau, Nha Trang.
