The Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) on November 14 kicks off the construction of water supply system in Buon Ho town, Dak Lak province.

With the support of 4.5 million USD grant aid from the Korean Government through KOICA, this system will permanently provide clean water for 80,000 households in Buon Ho town.

The town is suffering from regular drought as impact of climate change. At present, only 30% of households in this town can approach running water. Clean water supply is very crucial to them.

Mr. Han Choong Sik, Deputy President of KOICA, hopes the project will actively support socio-economic development as well as minimize the negative effects of climate change for not only Buon Ho town but also surrounding areas.

As commitment of Korea with international community, within 5 years since 2008, this country will contribute around 200 million USD to the East Asia Fund to combat climate change.
