Red-headed cranes return to Kien Giang

More than 30 red-headed cranes, scientifically known as Grusantigone, has returned to Binh An commune, Kien Luong district of the southern Kien Giang province since the middle of this February.

Located in Tam Nong district of the Mekong Delta province of Dong Thap, Tram Chim National Park boasts a rich biodiversity that turned it into the world’s 2000 th Ramsar site in 2012. Established in 1985, the 7,313-hectare Tram Chim became a national park in 1998 and then the fourth Ramsar site in Vietnam.

Trang An applies for world heritage site recognition

Vietnam has applied to the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) for recognition of the Trang An ecological complex in Ninh Binh Province as a world heritage site, Ninh Binh Province Department of Planning and Investment Director Nguyen Chi Tinh told the Vietnam Economic News on January 20.
