Enjoying the sight of storks in CanTho

Bang Lang Stork Sanctuary (Thoi An Hamlet, Thoi Thuan Commune, Thot Not District, Can Tho Province) is one of the attractive ecotourism destinations for visitors to Can Tho. You can go there by road that is quite small and has many rough sections, but there are many beautiful landscapes under bamboo trees or vast fields. In addition, you can hire a boat riding along the Hau River then through small canals before coming to the garden.

The songs of storks has broken the peaceful atmosphere in a countryside

In the past, the stork garden used to be rice fields possessed by Mr. Thuyen (the owner of the garden). In 1983, a flock of several hundreds of storks landed in his garden. However, he did not hunt or chase them because of his love of nature.

As bird tends to stay in a peaceful land, until 1994, the number of storks flocking and reproducing here on his land is increasing. Up to now, this number has mounted to more than 2 millions.
