Binh Dinh to build wind power plant

A wind power plant is expected to be built in the central province of Binh Dinh in the first quarter of 2012.
The Binh Dinh provincial People’s Committee has allowed the Phuong Mai joint stock company to develop the project.
Covering an area of 141.9ha in Nhon Hoi economic zone, the power plant will have 12 turbines with a combined capacity of 30MW.
The project is expected to join the national grid in the first quarter of 2013.
In another development, a signing ceremony for a thermal power plant in Thai Nguyen province took place in Hanoi.
Under the contract, the People’s Bank of China will provide An Khanh Electricity Joint Stock Company with US$143 million to build An Khanh Thermal Power Plant 1 in An Khanh commune, Dai Tu district.
The first stage of construction started in January at an estimated cost of US$168 million and the second in three months later.
The plant’s first turbine is scheduled to become operational in September, 2012.
The plant will generate 800 million KWh per year when it is connected to the national grid by the third quarter of 2013.
