Viet Nam – France join hands to protect environment in Ha Noi

On April 8th, the agreement signing ceremony on improving air quality between Ha Noi Municipal People’s Committee and the French Embassy in Viet Nam took place in Ha Noi.

 

French Ambassador to Viet Nam, Mr. Jean-Noel Poirier and Chairman of the Ha Noi Municipal People’s Committee, Mr. Nguyen Duc Chung signed the agreement

 

The agreement signed by French Ambassador to Viet Nam, Mr. Jean-Noel Poirier and Chairman of the Ha Noi Municipal People’s Committee, Mr. Nguyen Duc Chung includes cooperation in daily analyzing air quality of Ha Noi, transferring technology in the field of sustainable urban area and mobilizing the French assistance. The two sides agreed to cooperate and share experiences in deploying sensors and monitoring stations networks; analyzing air quality; researching measurement system to ensure air quality in Ha Noi; sharing technological science advances...

 

Addressing at the event, the French Ambassador Jean Noel Poirier said air quality is now becoming a major concern of people around the world. Therefore, Ha Noi should equip necessary tools to measure and analyze air quality to improve environmental quality of the capital.

 

For his part, the Chairman of the Ha Noi Municipal People’s Committee expressed his pleasure about the two sides’ cooperation for the sustainability of the capital. The City will hold a inauguration ceremony of environmental monitoring stations to welcome the French President Francois Hollande’s visit to Viet Nam in September 2016, he added.

 

 

At the event, Auto Motors Viet Nam and Mai Linh transportation group also signed an agreement on the purchase of 100 Renault electric cars. The delivery is due in June 2016.
