VACNE's SOS Environment Center was awarded the Vietnam Environment Award

(VACNE) - Vietnam Center for Responding to Environmental Incidents (SOS Environment) - a unit under VACNE has just been awarded the Vietnam Environment Award 2019 directly by Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh and Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Tran Hong Ha .


This is the highest official and noble environmental award, considered by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (every two years) to honor organizations, individuals and communities that have made outstanding achievements in their environmental protection, in order to  encourage the movement of environmental protection to contribute to sustainable socio-economic development, at the same time propagate and introduce advanced examples of environmental protection, spreading patriotic emulation movements in  this field.  

In that sense, the Vietnam Environment Award has attracted the participation of the entire society, from the central to local levels, with all ages and social sectors participating over the years, many of which are Units and Membership of VACNE.  

In this review, the Organizing Committee awarded awards to 22 collectives, 2 communities, and 10 individuals with outstanding achievements in environmental protection in 3 areas. VACNE's Environmental SOS Center was awarded the Vietnam Environment Award, for its outstanding performance in "Preventing, treating pollution and improving the environment".  

Although newly established, the SOS Environment Center has participated in responding to more than 100 environmental incidents related to oil and chemical spills (including the pollution of clean water sources in the Da River, affecting life of thousands of people in the southwestern area of Hanoi) and organized more than 250 training courses, drills and drills in response to environmental incidents for central, local and enterprise levels nationwide. In addition, the Center also builds a network of response stations in the regions with dedicated forces, vehicles, equipment and materials to ensure timely and effective response when an incident occurs. out.
