VACNE actively participates in joint environmental and development activities

VACNE ACTIVITIES

(VACNE) - Promoting existing traditions, VACNE organizations and members have actively participated in consultancy, social criticism, knowledge dissemination and communication on natural resources, environment, climate change and sustainable development in many ministries, sectors and localities.

According to the information received by the VACNE Office, Prof. TS. People's Teacher Tran Hieu Nhue, Vice Chairman of the Association and many members participating in the topic on waste collection registered to attend the workshop "Current status of policy in solid waste collection and treatment projects in our country today" organized by the Central Institute for Economic Management under the Ministry of Planning and Investment.

Journalist Phung Quang Chinh, Deputy Head of Environmental Communication Department registered the presentation "Some things to avoid in science and technology communication" in the scientific workshop "Improving the effectiveness of communication of scientific and technological knowledge", while General Secretary of the Association Pham Van Son registered the presentation "Prevention and response to environmental incidents: being proactive in technology and resources in Vietnam" in the series of events "Connecting Vietnam Technology and Innovation" organized by the Ministry of Science and Technology in collaboration with the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations.

Many VACNE organizations and members actively participate in meetings to contribute consultancy and criticism of development projects, draft relevant legal documents, recently issues of public concern such as the recognition of Ha Long Bay - Cat Ba archipelago as a World Natural Heritage Site, about erosion and subsidence in the Mekong Delta, about the harmful effects of flash floods and pipe floods, and then about related development projects in Tien Hai, Thai Binh and the construction of Ka Pet reservoir in Binh Thuan,... Many VACNE members have registered to attend the workshop "Suggestions on the Law on Water Resources (amended)" organized by the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations in collaboration with the Committee on Science, Technology and Environment of the National Assembly.

In particular, many leaders and members of VACNE have been very enthusiastic and responsible in contributing ideas to summarize 10 years of implementation of Resolution No. 24/TW on climate change response, strengthening natural resource management and environmental protection. Opinion of Prof. Dr. Dang Huy Huynh, Vice Chairman and many VACNE leaders in the meeting gave in-depth comments on the dossier of the final project that just took place were highly appreciated (including the draft Submission of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment and the draft Conclusion of the Politburo).

From now until the end of the year, there is certainly more work involved that requires the participation of VACNE organizations and members. Please notify the contributions to the Office to convey to the whole Association.
