(VACNE) - The International Conference on the topic "Impacts of environmental pollution on biodiversity and human health" co-organized by VACNE ended successfully, with many lively and profound opinions, along with Very specific and practical suggestions.

Despite taking place in the context of the outbreak of the COVID-19 epidemic in Vietnam, the two days of the conferences were still continuously exciting, with hundreds of domestic and international delegates participating, with many presentations and discussions. Direct and online criticism and comments are transferred to the polls of the Organizing Committee.

Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Sinh, President of VACNE said: This is a very good sign but also a great pressure for the Organizing Committee. This success is thanks to the active support of the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA), Joint Nature Conservation Committee (JNCC), Global Alliance on health and Pollution (GAHP), authorities, media agencies, the NGOs in Vietnam, together with a large number of scientists in all 3 regions of the country. The results of the Workshop "Impacts of environmental pollution on biodiversity and human health" and the enthusiastic opinions here, will be synthesized by the Organizing Committee to report to Vietnamese authorities and international organizations.

In the speech at the opening session of Mr. Nguyen Thuong Hien, Deputy Director of General Department of Environment (Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment of Vietnam); Nguyen Anh Tuan, representative of JNCC and Ms. Rachael Kupka, Executive Director of GAHP at the closing session of the Workshop, both highly appreciated the role of VACNE; confirm similarities in ideas and approaches. Although there were still some differences of opinion, most of the participants affirmed that the Conference was a great success. Scientists and managers also expressed their hope that the following activities of the Workshop will bring practical results for environmental protection, biodiversity conservation and human health.
