Seabed destroyed by pollution in central Vietnam

The Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology, while studying the causes of the recent mass fish deaths in the four central provinces of Ha Tinh, Quang Binh, Quang Tri and Thua Thien-Hue, have highlighted images that show the destruction wrought by the pollution.

In Ha Tinh, scientists visited the area around Ron Ma Cape and Son Duong Island which is about 7.5 kilometres from the Formosa Company’s discharge pipe. The pictures, taken on May 6 show thin layers of coral and about 35-40% of reef that died about a month ago.
