In Hanoi, about 250 members of the youth union of Gia Lam district joined hands to plant 100 trees around a historical relic, the Nguyen Phi Y Lan Temple, in Duong Xa commune in Gia Lam.

The district plans to plant 20,000 trees by the end of February.

Meanwhile, people in all localities in the northern province of Hai Duong joined the festival with the aim of raising public awareness on environmental protection. The province will work to plant 1 million new trees over the whole year.

From now on, the northern province of Hung Yen will strive to plant 80,000 fruit trees and 40,000 greeneries, mostly around schools, hospitals and factories.

On the first day of the festival, the central province of Phu Yen planted 500 trees in Ho Hiep Trung kindergarten’s campus. More than 10,000 other trees of all kinds will be planted in the locality until the end of March.

At the same time, the central province of Quang Ngai planted more than 1,500 trees in the launching day of the festival.

In the island district of Ly Son, the provincial Military High Command and local people planted 1,000 trees along main roads and Thoi Loi mountain, making tourist destinations and the island much greener.
