PM approves task to planning Central Highlands until 2030

PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng has signed Decision No. 45/QĐ-TTg, approving a task for planning the Central Highlands’ development till 2030.




The Central Highlands is featured with long-lasting cultural identities, including tangible and intangible cultural heritages
 
The planning project is expected to be finalized within 18 months.
The planning region covers all administrative boundaries of five provinces, namely Kon Tum, Gia Lai, Đắk Lắk, Đắk Nông, and Lâm Đồng, with total area of 54.639 square km.
The region’s current population is 5,114,998, which is expected to increase to 7,320,000 by 2030.
The planning aims to turn the Central Highlands into the hub of massive agriculture-forestry production, export-oriented mineral exploitation and processing industry, while ensuring national defense and security, natural resources protection, and preservation of local cultural identities.
The Ministry of Construction is assigned to directing the planning process, then submit it to the PM for approval.
