The five year project includes a $100 million loan from the Wprld Bank and non-refundable aid of $5 million from the Global Environment Fund (GEF).
The Ministry of Finance in conjunction with the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) and other relevant agencies has been put in charge of the project's finances.
The PM noted MARD would have to complete a feasibility report to create a basis for negotiating loans, ensuring a schedule and establishing the goals of the project.
Dung has already approved a "Water Resources Management for Rural Development in the Cuu Long (Mekong) Delta Region" project. The project has a total investment of more than $210 million, including World Bank, Official Development Assistance of over $160 million. Reciprocal capital will be included in the annual budget of agencies and localities that are participating in the project under State Budget Law regulations.
