A group of eight US enterprises, laboratories and universities joined the forum to showcase models, technologies and applications from the US environmental industry that can benefit Viet Nam.
The forum took a comprehensive look at key environmental and climate change issues, including the ways in which pollution was impacting Vietnamese seafood exports and how climate change was affecting daily life.
The World Bank estimates that Viet Nam needs US$2.5 billion per year to deal with environmental pollution because of its rapid industrialization. With a coastline stretching for more that 3,000 kilometers, the country is also one of the worlds most vulnerable locations to the rise in sea levels.
"Viet Nam is still one of the most attractive locations in Asia for business and tourism," Herb Cochran, executive director of AmCham Viet Nam said.
US and international companies are bullish on Viet Nams long term prospects and consider the country one of the most attractive emerging markets in the world, the forum heard.
The first forum was organised in Washington DC last May.
