Japan supports in water treatment at Chua Cau (Hoi An)

Le Dai Quang – vice leader of the environment team (NRE Division, Hoi An, Quang Nam) said that with the requirement of ensuring the beauty of Chua Cau ruins of Hoi An city, the city has implemented several ways to improve water sources such as dredging the lake annually or biennially, using grass and water hyacinth in water treatment.

The city also called JICA (Japanese) for help with water treatment through this channel and the Japanese government has been through ODA grant last February. The city is finalizing procedures for implementing the project with a total budget of more than $US 11 million. Items include building wastewater treatment plant with capacity of 2,000 m3/day with population growth forecast and tourism development; renovating the collection system, making culverts with lids to ensure the beauty of the city
