The Kino Heritage Fruit Trees Project will research, locate, propagate and re-establish historically appropriate fruit tree cultivars to the original orchards and gardens at Tumacácori National Historical Park and Tucson Origins Heritage Park.

This ancient tree, more than 1,000 years old, grows in Tien Luc Commune, Lang Giang District, Bac Giang Province. It was recognized by the Ministry of Culture and Information as a state treasure on Jan 21st, 1989. It's one of the two most ancient camphor trees in the world, a rare "wonder" of nature.
Fifty seven more ancient trees to be recognized as heritage trees by VACNE

Under the chairmanship of Prof. Dr. Sc. Dang Huy Huynh, a meeting of the VACNE selection board for Vietnam heritage trees has been held to examine registration documents sent from many localities. The board has selected and suggested 57 trees for VACNE to honor that meet Vietnam heritage tree standards.

In Vietnam, some "famous secular trees" like the Tan Trao banian tree (Ficus bengalensis), the thousand years old camphor tree (Cinamomum camphora) in Bac Giang province, the ancient longan tree (Dimocarpus longan)in Hung Yen province, etc. have been under the protection of the state and communities.
