Hanoi Environmental Group is now in Full Swing

21 February 2011 | 04:15:00 PM

The Hanoi Environmental Group (HEG) is in full swing after its official launch party at Joma Bakery Café on February 18th, 2011.

The party incorporated an eco-trade fair that promoted exhibitors of eco friendly, sustainable and local products and services. HEG also made sure to keep things upbeat and fun with live music and a DJ, food and wine tastings, door prizes, silent auctions and a short film. Joma was packed with socially and environmentally progressive people, from the local and foreign community, that are keen to be part of creating a greener Hanoi. The launch party was a great success that showcased and supported the many great initiative Hanoi has to offer.

For those who have not heard about HEG, it is a “social network interested in resolving growing environmental issues by building cooperation between individuals, private sector, foreign and local government agencies and NGO’s. HEG is taking direct action to create a greener Hanoi today!” HEG is open to anyone who is passionate about creating a greener Hanoi through action. If you want to start your own initiative, you are encouraged to use HEG’s meetings, website, media and email to launch your ideas.

If you are interesting in becoming part of this exciting new group, you are welcome to attend an upcoming meet up, occurring every 2nd Wednesday of the month at Joma Bakery Café (Ly Quoc Su) from 7:30-9:00pm. Otherwise, feel free to e-mail HEG at hanoienvironmentalgroup@gmail.com.
