Having been present at the meeting, Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Sinh, president of VACNE, has informed the board about some preliminary results of VACNE's activities on the issue. Dr. Sinh also expressed his pleasure that the event of honorable recognition of heritage trees in Vietnam, initiated by VACNE, has attracted a group of citizen participants, and has received higher levels of appreciation from the public.

The 57 selected trees include: A banian tree (Ficus bengalensis) at Vien Giac pagoda, Quang Nam province, a "Thi" tree (Diospyros decandra) and a malabar almond tree (Terminalia catappa) at an ancient pagoda Hung Long, Ninh Binh city, and 54 "Lim" trees (Erythrophleum fordii) at Cao temple, Hải Dương province.

Aside from above mentioned 57 trees, and 10 other ancient trees already recognized as heritage trees (9 "Muom" trees (Mangifera foetida) in Hanoi plus a "Thi" tree in Hue city), the selection board for Vietnam heritage trees has gone through other registrations and proposed VACNE’s recognition of 23 other ancient trees. These trees meet heritage tree standards, and include: 18 "Duoi" trees (Streblus asper) in Duong Lam, Son Tay, Hanoi, a banian tree at Rua hamlet (Ba Vi, Hanoi), a banian tree at Hung Nha pagoda in Hung Nguyen, Nghe An province, a "Sa mu dau" tree (Cunninghamia konishii hayata) at Khe Bu, Con Cuong, Nghe An province, and a "Nghien" tree (Burretiodendron hsienmu) in Lung Tung, Ha Lang, Cao Bang province).
