Severe drought in central Vietnam expected till mid-September

A severe drought, believed to have begun last year, was likely to continue till the middle of September throughout central Vietnam, the National Centre for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting (NCHMF) reported.

Le Dai Quang – vice leader of the environment team (NRE Division, Hoi An, Quang Nam) said that with the requirement of ensuring the beauty of Chua Cau ruins of Hoi An city, the city has implemented several ways to improve water sources such as dredging the lake annually or biennially, using grass and water hyacinth in water treatment.
