A Book Titled “Social Review in the Nature and Environment Protection” published soon

More than 1,000 copies of the book titled “Social review in the Nature and Environment Protection” compiled by the Chairman of the Social Review Committee of the Vietnam Association for Conservation of Nature and Environment (VACNE) Dr. Nguyen Dinh Hoe will be officially published in the beginning of the new year. The book has 132 pages with a page size of 14.5 x 20.5 cm.
This is one of valuable books ordered by the Government and published by S&T Publisher in order to meet a demand of a developing society. The book is presented in a simple form but, in comparison with other existing books on the same topic, it is quite improved in terms of complemented contents and improved form as well.
The book consists of 4 parts including General issues, Methodology, Current state of social review - experiences of VACNE, and Some specific scientific methods of social review. In the book, methodology as well as arguments of social review in natural resources and environment protection are clearly presented. Starting from general concepts of civil society, social review in general, social review in the nature and environment protection, legal basis of social review, etc…the author presents in detail on the methods as well as on the process of social review in the nature and environment protection.
The book not only introduces a current state of the social review in the nature and environment protection in Vietnam and VACNE's experiences in carrying out the task of social review in practice but also provide readers with a number of state legal documentations on consultancy, social review, and social appraisal. The book certainly contributes to more sound implementation of social review activities and to more active protection of the nature and environment.
