VN supports Clean Up the World campaign

24 September 2012 | 09:52:00 AM

The Ministry of Natural Resource and Environment coordinated with the Viet Nam Confederation of Labor and the Da Nang People’s Committee to hold a national ceremony to respond to the international campaign “Clean up the World.”

Deputy Minister of Natural Resource and Environment Bui Cach Tuyen called for people in Da Nang in particular and throughout Viet Nam in general to respond to the “Clean up the World” campaign lasting from September 14 to 16, through practical actions, such as recycling wastes and using no plastic bags.
After the ceremony, delegates and residents planted over 300 trees at Tho Quang Port in Son Tra District.
The global campaign, initiated by Australia in 1993, inspires and empowers communities to clean up, fix up and conserve their environment.
Held in partnership with the United Nations Environment Program, it mobilizes an estimated 35 million people across 130 countries each year.
