VACNE - The Centre for Marinelife Conservation and Community Development (MCD)- a member of VACNE has developed community-based eco-tourism. Susie Miller, a Canadian Volunteer working in MCD is writing about this kind of eco-tourism of MCD.

Recently, the VACNE office welcomed three young Canadian volunteers, who will help to upgrade the English part of its website. The volunteers were sent here by the Centre for Marinelife Conservation and Community Development (MCD) to help VACNE increase the foreign readership of its website.

In November 2008, MCD in cooperation with Xuan Thuy National Park and Corin-Asia and Giao Xuan and Giao An people’s committees, implemented a study tour for households who were interested in sustainable livelihood development, to successfully model “que” earth-worm raising in Vong La village (Dong Anh district, Ha Noi).
