90 red-head cranes flock to Tram Chim

(TNKTSG Online) – “On the morning of March 18, we counted 90 red-head cranes at Tram Chim National Park, 27 more than the previous month and 23 more than last March”- Nguyen Van Hung, director of the park, answered Sai Gon Economic Times via phone.

At the press conference with the aim to introduce some activities of World Water Day 2011 themed “Water for urban development” in Hanoi on March 10, Deputy Prime Minister of Natural Resources & Environment, Nguyen Thai Lai said that water pollution mainly occurs in urban areas, where a large quantity of waste and sewage are discharged, and a lakes encroachment is critical.
“Carp” wins the T-shirt design for environment competition

(VietNamNet Bridge)-The T-shirt design competition in response to the Earth Hour 2011 campaign closed on April 2. The first prize was presented to Cao Tung Lam with “carp” design. The competition attracted the participation of students from eight universities and nine high schools in Hanoi.
