The elevated section of the Nhon-Hanoi Station metro line has transported more than 6.4 million passengers in its first year of operation, with a daily average of 19,000-21,000 people.

Hanoi’s Public Transport Management and Operation Centre has announced the first-year performance of the elevated section 3.1 Nhon-Hanoi Station metro project.

The section links the Nhon area in Tay Tuu Ward and Cau Giay Street in Cau Giay Ward.

According to the centre, the on-time train rate remains above 99 per cent, while passenger satisfaction exceeds 99.9 per cent.

There are 36 bus routes connected along the metro line. At Cau Giay Station, the bus network can carry over 6,000 passengers per hour per direction, sufficient to transfer all peak-hour passengers from the metro to connecting buses.

All eight stations on the Nhon-Cau Giay section have bus stops within 50 metres for convenient access, while nine bus routes connect the line with the Cat Linh-Ha Dong metro line.

Hanoi has put into operation two metro lines, Nhon-Cau Giay and Cat Linh-Ha Dong, which are gaining in popularity.

The city has planned to break ground on Metro Line 2 (Nam Thang Long-Tran Hung Dao) on October 10 and Metro Line 5 (Van Cao-Hoa Lac) on December 19.

Under Hanoi’s Capital Planning for 2021-2030 with a vision to 2050, the capital will develop another 14 metro lines.
