45 more ancient trees qualified for recognition as Vietnamese Heritage Trees

(VACNE) - This is the number of trees, out of a total of 93 dossiers, sent from 6 provinces and cities, which have just been recognized by the Vietnam Heritage Tree Council as meeting the criteria for Vietnam Heritage Trees.

At the top of the list in this review are Ba Ria - Vung Tau province (24 trees) and Quang Tri province (17 trees). Localities such as Ben Tre, Ha Tinh and Hanoi, each place has only 01 tree recognized as a Vietnam Heritage Tree.The trees of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province considered this time are all in Con Dao district.

Although only ranked second in number (17 trees), the ancient trees on Con Co island are the first Vietnamese Heritage Trees of Quang Tri province.

In this review, there is a Troi tree in the premises of the Cultural House of Vinh Thang village, Huong Vinh commune, Huong Khe district, Ha Tinh province is the largest tree (trunk circumference 8.2 m, height 27 m) and is nearly 800 years old.

The 200-year-old Thien Tue tree in the courtyard of Phu Nhuan Communal House, Hamlet 2, Phu Nhuan Commune, Ben Tre City, Ben Tre Province is also a giant tree: with a trunk circumference of up to 3.2 m and a height of 6 m.

At this Council meeting, there were many expert opinions suggesting that the Chairman of the Vietnam Association of Natural Resources and Environment promptly reward collectives and individuals in some localities who have made many efforts in protecting and saving Vietnamese Heritage Trees during the recent storm No. 3.
