The legendary Rice Tree – A historical witness and cultural symbol
The ancient Gạo Tree is located on the right bank of the Thuong River, associated with the accumulation of Ba Co Temple. According to folklore, a female general of the Yen The rebel army commanded by Hoang Hoa Tham died here in an unbalanced battle with the French colonialists. After she sank into the Thuong River, the people brought her body to the shore, buried and built a shrine next to the rice tree, thereby forming a sacred relic.
Today, the Gạo tree is not only a witness to history but also a tourist attraction. Every season when Rice flowers bloom, the scenery here becomes brilliant and poetic, attracting many people to visit, take photos, and check-in. The tour combining this destination with Vinh Nghiem Pagoda, Truc Lam Phuong Hoang Zen Monastery (Yen Dung), Mo stream (Luc Nam) and Tay Yen Tu spiritual-ecological tourism area (Son Dong) is also increasingly chosen by tourists.
