14 August 2024 | 07:38:00 AM

The Can Gio mangrove forest is located in Can Gio District, about 40 kilometers from downtown HCMC. Recognized by UNESCO as a world biosphere reserve on January 21, 2000, the forest spans over 70,000 hectares, including a 4,000-hectare core area. It is considered the green lung of HCMC, contributing to the improvement of the city’s weather. The forest is home to many valuable aquatic products such as shrimp, crabs, and clams, in addition to typical mangrove trees like Su, Vet, Duoc, Mam, O ro, and Cha La.
