There is a 1,500-year-old Bodhi tree at the oldest temple in Vietnam in Tien Lang district, Hai Phong City.

On March 15, the Bodhi tree was recognized as a heritage tree of Vietnam.
It is on Dot Son Pagoda in Quan Bo village, Cap Tien commune, Tien Lang district.
The tree was brought to Vietnam by Indian monks during the Ly Dynasty, over 1,500 years ago.
After nearly 15 centuries, the Bodhi tree and the Dot Son temple are still there, despite rain and wind, storms, and wars.
The Bodhi tree trunk diameter is 1.6 m.
The tree has seven branches, with the average circumference of 2.2 m/branch.
The tree canopy covers 280m2.

The fruits are dark red color and very sweet.
The stump is surrounded by layers of roots.
Bui Hong Tang, 81 years old, has been taking care of the tree for many years.
The Bodhi tree is considered the most sacred one in the region. It is visited by pilgrims and tourists every day.
Indian monks and staff of the Embassy of India in Vietnam often visit the tree.
