Wildlife photo taken in Vietnam ranks among the Best of 2024

10 December 2024 | 02:34:00 PM

The Natural History Museum in London has unveiled 25 of the top wildlife photographs of 2024 and is inviting viewers worldwide to vote for their favorite.

These 25 stunning wildlife images were selected by an international jury from 59,228 entries submitted by participants from 117 countries and territories in the competition organized by the museum.

Among other candidates for this year’s People’s Choice Award is the memorable image of a striking pair of the critically endangered shanked douc langurs mating in the forests of the Son Tra peninsula in Da Nang, Vietnam and the heartbreaking image of a young cheetah cub waiting to be sold in Ethiopia.

Douglas Gurr, Director of the Natural History Museum, said the public can vote for their favorite image either online or via digital screens in the flagship Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition at the Natural History Museum. Voting closes on January 29, 2025.

The winning image and the four runners-up will be announced in February, 2025, and be displayed online. The top five People’s Choice Award images will also be showcased at the Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition in South Kensington until the exhibition closes on June 29, 2025.
