The contest, titled “Sustainability – All we need is U”, aims to increase awareness of sustainability and to appeal the sense of responsibility and responsive actions of youths right from today.

“ Vietnam is a developing country where urbanisation is taking place at a very fast speed but it is also one of the most vulnerable countries to climate change,” said President and CEO of Siemens Vietnam Erdal Elver.

And yet not all Vietnamese people, especially the young, are fully aware of the consequences of these two trends and the necessity to act sustainably – with respect to the economy, the environment and society, he said.

“Sustainability is Siemens’ guiding principle, and we wish to promote it in Vietnam as a part of our corporate social commitment to this fast growing country”, emphasised Elver.

This contest is open to students aged 18 to 25 years old of all universities and colleges across Vietnam who are creative and dynamic as well as fans of the Seventh Art.

The jury will select five best entries for the final round where short-listed film-makers are required to make a presentation about his/her video clip. Winners will be awarded with very attractive and valuable prizes.

There are also many prizes for participants throughout the contest such as “The best video clip of the month” selected by the jury and “The video clip of choice” voted by the website’s members together with prizes for winners of the online games.

This is the second time Siemens Vietnam undertakes to organise a contest for Vietnamese students. The 2010 photo contest “Ho Chi Minh City 21 – A Green and Sustainable City” drew much attention and was well responded by students from more than 20 universities in Ho Chi Minh City.

Present in Vietnam in 1993, Siemens has participated in numerous infrastructure projects in all key areas of the Vietnamese economy, including energy, industry, healthcare and transportation.
